AD Mute Privacy Policy

AD Mute is a browser extension that detects ads on supported streaming sites, mutes ad audio, and restores audio when content resumes.

What We Collect

AD Mute does not collect personal information and does not send user data to external servers.

The extension stores only local extension settings and counters in browser extension storage:

• enabled (on/off)
• sensitivity
• showNotifications
• autoSkip
• safeMode (internal behavior setting)
• adsBlocked (count)
• adsSkipped (count)
• timeSaved (estimated seconds)

These values are used only to operate extension features and display status in the popup.

What We Do Not Collect

AD Mute does not collect or transmit:

• Name, email, address, phone number, or other personal identifiers
• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Payment or financial data
• Health information
• Personal communications
• GPS/location data
• Browsing history logs for analytics
• Keystroke, mouse, or scroll tracking for profiling

Website Access and Processing

AD Mute runs on supported streaming domains to detect ad-related UI states and video playback conditions. Detection is processed locally in the browser. No page content is transmitted to external servers.

Data Sharing

AD Mute does not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties.

Data Retention and Control

Stored settings and counters remain in browser extension storage until you reset stats in the extension UI or uninstall the extension.

Security

AD Mute contains packaged code only and does not use remote code execution.

Children’s Privacy

AD Mute is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
